Steve Lapin's mixed-media paintings include visual and narrative topical references to issues facing us today. They are meant to be looked at  from a distance as an overall visual color pattern painting, and on close inspection, as a non-linear narrative based on specific ideas.  Sometimes these images are buried under many layers of pattern and color, other times they are readily visible on the surface.  These paintings are created on heavyweight canvas with specially prepared gesso and acrylic paints to allow for his technique of bending the surface of the painting for three dimensional effects.  As with all of Steve Lapin's work, painting commissions are accepted, some examples are included below.
